艾尔顿·赫拉克勒斯·约翰（Sir Elton Hercules John），原名雷金纳德·肯尼思·德怀特（Reginald Kenneth Dwight），1947年3月25日出生于英国伦敦，英国歌手、曲作者、钢琴演奏者、演员、慈善家。1964年，艾尔顿·约翰在一个周末酒吧开始了音乐生涯。1969年，推出首张个人专辑《Empty Sky》。1970年代，其连续推出的七张专辑都登上了美国排行榜的冠军，其中六张入选《滚石》杂志评出的“史上最伟大的500张专辑”。1987年，凭借歌曲《That’s What Friend Are For》获得第29届格莱美奖“最佳流行乐队/组合”奖。1994年，为动画电影《狮子王》献唱主题曲《Can You Feel The Love Tonight》，获得第67届奥斯卡金像奖“最佳原创歌曲”奖。同年，入选摇滚名人堂。1995年，获得大英帝国司令勋章（CBE）。1997年，为纪念戴安娜王妃而发行歌曲《Candle in the Wind 1997》，其销量突破3300万，是史上最卖座的单曲。1998年，被英国女王伊丽莎白二世封为帝国二等勋爵。1999年，获得格莱美传奇奖。2004年，获得肯尼迪中心荣誉奖。2013年，获得全英音乐奖“英国偶像”奖。2020年，凭借为电影《火箭人》献唱的主题曲《(I’m Gonna)Love Me Again》，获得第92届奥斯卡金像奖最佳原创歌曲。
